ABOUT
A faithful Anglican community in Mesa, Arizona
Good Shepherd was established in Mesa in June 2008. We welcome all Christians regardless of background. We follow a traditional liturgy that uses the sacraments as God's centuries-old way of revealing Himself. The Anglican tradition began in England in 1534. The 39 Articles of Religion, published in 1571 during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, contain our core doctrine: Summarizing, we believe that the Word of God is expressed in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible and that the Bible sets the standards and rules for salvation. We are a member congregation of the Diocese of Western Anglicans (DWA) which encompasses Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana,,Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. The DWA is a member diocese of the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA).
Our mission is to follow the Great Commission in the East Valley to “...go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20).
